Hi

Those sholder boards are very rare. A pair of everyday MARSHAL CCCP was offered for $130. Is it a good price (for the buyer...)?

Consider the fact that there were only 3, this should be very expensive. Offered for $99.00, is it original? New from some storage? Reproduction?

I know a guy in Moscow named Pavel who makes them. I am not sure he is the only one but I know for sure he makes them in quantities.

These are easy to have made. I get unsolicited advertising sent to the website email-box from a company in Pakistan that does only this type of high-end embroidery for military type insignia and decorations. The tone of the message was suggestive that if I can give them something to copy, they can do just about anything. I guess I would be wary of anything like the above. Unless you can establish provenance.

I would buy such items only from the original owner (ie, the veteran himself). There are more fakes than originals in the market. I know people who make them in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Gentlemen,

One of my customers had just pointed me to a large website specializing in high-ranking late Soviet uniforms. they have an incredible selection, but all items are fakes. I think I will never buy another mint condition uniform again. :(
