When you are buying this sort of high end item you have to be 100% sure of your source.

When in doubt - leave it out.

Money to waste? Make haste!

the first documented looks convincing. The loop seems a bit thick, but one must remember this kind of awards must be examinated with a magnifying glass in order to see the die defects which can distinguish the genuine from the perfect re-engraved fake.
You can spend high dollards on "E" only when you know the dealer. That's why a guy like I.Moisseeyev have always been expensive.

You're absolutely right! A friend of my asked my advice on these because he is considering buying them. I told him I would ask you guys for advice but it is tricky one I guess.

I heartily endorse Igor M! You will never get a raw deal from him. He does his due diligence and he makes absolutely certain that he doesn't buy fakes because his business relies upon repeat customers. So when you buy from him, you know it's real and you are not gambling. On that well known auction site, you are dealing with strangers. There are too many crooks out there with lots of fakes.
