Comrade Gladir was located at the front of the Patriotic War from August 1942 to January 1943, being the assistant commander of a sanitary platoon of the 43rd Separate Rifle Brigade, whilst supervising equipment at the command point of the brigade in the region of Mozdok 2nd January 1943 took a heavy bullet wound to the head.

Wound confirmed by a certificate of Evacuation Hospital #1491 of 24th June 1943.
