Re: New Sections Coming To The Forum.
I too am uncomfortable with these expansions; they smack of Eurocentricism.
Instead the first new area we should expand into is the study of medals of the Confederate States Of America (1860-1865). With the breadth and depth of CSA medals and awards available I'm sure we'll get some great pics and lively discussions!

Re: New Sections Coming To The Forum.
Maybe it is a bit "European". I am a northern European myself so I must be to blame.
I'm sure we can exasperate the implementation of a CSA section if demand deems it so. I'll also be able to contribute in depth in that area as I have certainly not narrowed my collecting of awards by any means. There are still all those "Societies" awarding folks too. The south will rise again (with the proletariat)!

Actually, I've always had a special fondness for the Araucanian awards. I insist for them to be the very first new addition to the existing forum

Re: New Sections Coming To The Forum.
Unfortunately my South American regional awards only go as far south as Potosí so we'll have to depend on other folks to post them.

Re: New Sections Coming To The Forum.
Well there was your April Fool's Joke. Some of you clocked on VERY early and I've had some very humorous conversations with forum members about it.
For those of you who couldn't see the jokes I'll point them out; "Socialist" the next logical step is "National Socialist" - Logic?? Let us all remember the German–Soviet Treaty Of Friendship, Cooperation and Demarcation. - Let us remember it indeed and how it was complied with! "Oswald Ernald Mosley" - Why not just Oswald Mosley? A reference to the "Not The Nine O'clock News" song - as this is "Not The Axis Award Forum". Spike Milligan would say "There's a lot of it about" - Spike was of course a comedian who wrote "Adolf Hitler My Part In His Downfall" but more importantly "Mussolini His Part In My Downfall". His "There's a lot of it about" was a nonsensical sketch show that used Hitler as a comic point many times. George Harrison said "It's been done" - From a spoof episode of The Simpsons. George Harrison also Performed on Legs Larry Smith's "Springtime For Hitler". Remember now that the Greater German section is just the next step in complete world coverage! - Yes the "brass" at the Soviet Awards Forum are just egomaniacs. As if it isn't enough what we do here already?? One Website, One Forum, One Reference! - Yes One Soviet Awards Forum! The reference for Soviet Awards. For those of you who didn't get the obvious joke, I would advise watching some Doug Stanhope routines or some of Anna Crilly's dead-pan performances in Lead Balloon - one of those have to tickle you, I'm also very honoured by the fact this joke thread got over 35 "likes" - Thank you to everyone who participated!

Obvious? Nothing surprises me anymore after the numerous incomprehensible decisions that have been taken by the forum staff lately. Well, I'm glad at least one person had fun today.

Re: April Fool's Joke - New Sections Coming To The Forum.
Gentlemen,
We've decided to expand to third reich militaria for the purposes of attracting advertising dollars. We realize many of you may not be happy with this, but we have things to buy..like porsches, and fire trucks that drive unmanned..I personally ordered a solid gold toilet bowl. Simply from the money I made on the advertising from this site. So, let's move forward...KA-CHING!
