Resistance Decoration.

Not to be confused with the Resistance Order, the Resistance Decoration is awarded in two classes to PAVN units and individuals for meritorious military service or service in support of the resistance against the French, between 1946 to 1954, and against the South Vietnamese government and their American allies between 1954 and 1975.

This award was established on 20 August 1948.

This is the 2nd class. And it is of the normal "quality".

The Resistance Decoration (Huy Chương Kháng Chiến) was created in two classes and awarded for resisting the French and then American forces.

The criteria for being awarded for resisting the French is to have been awarded an Order or Decoration for service against the French between before 20th April 1954. The class of decoration is dependent on level of award received and length of service.

The criteria for being awarded for resisting the Americans is to be a member of the Army, Police, Defence/Guerilla forces or being a governmental official or worker, member of a mass organisation or a civilian particularly meritorious in resistance.

Their efforts had to be continuous and to 30th April 1975 and with an impeccable record.

1st Class was awarded for 7-10 years service and 2nd Class for 5-7 years.
