Sagvari Endre Commemorative Award.
The KISZ, or Magyar Kommunista Ifjúsági Szövetség- Hungarian Young Communist League, was formed in 1957 after the failed revolution of 1956. The previous youth organization, DISZ, had been disbanded due to it's involvement in the '56 revolution. The organization was for ages 14-26.
I generally don't start a thread with the best item I have, but this is an exception. I was fortunate enough to find a badge that I have heard referred to as a medal. It is the Sagvari Endre Commemorative award and was for those members of DISZ who fought against the counter-revolution of 1956 "with arms in hand". Only 130 of these were awarded. The legend around the portrait reads, " Loyalty to the People, Loyalty to the Party".
