Yes, I remember that piece. It did have the orders book and issue box but the seller wants $850 for it!
A fair market price for one would be between $200 and $350 depending on the condition and orders book. Rusty.

That's the one. I don't know if it ever sold. Just can't find Russian Federation Orders and Medals as commonly as Soviet ones. Maybe because there is a lack of knowledge of the value for them? Commonly faked? This Order of Courage is very nice, that's for sure.

I have seen them selling for $500 to $600 now. If you can get one for $200 take it.

The thing that always worries me about these is the ability for unethical people to get the award books and put the book and medal together. I wonder if there's any way to research these???
A Russian colonel I knew was awarded one of these for his services as an observer for the 1st House of Military Ministers in Chechnya in 1996. They had a good number of pictures of the presentation of the award, which was quite impressive! The colonel gave me his uniform when I left Russia, but I didn't get the medal. Darn! :D --Dave |

The collectabily of the Russian Federation awards is a risky proposition. There is no good book or site for that matter and almost all awards are heavily faked. Alot of dealer refuse to carry these because of high number of fakes versus real awards.

Rusty,
I believe genuine pieces now cost about $300-400 "over there". I have seen a LOT of faked medals, some of them had weekly stamped "EC" on the back. Alexei |

Re: Order Of Courage.
Hello Guys
As you can see from my profile I am Italian and I am writing from Rome I am a deep lover of the Orders and Medals of the former Soviet Union and the United States of America. I thank God and for your fathers, gentlemen, because thanks to their sacrifice, today we do not all speak German. With deep respect I show you something that does not exist yet in this forum. Variant 1 Weight 30 grams MMD stamp The variant 1 goes from number 1 to number 827
