Re: Red Star,0346822,Signalman
I wonder if his Medal "For Combat Merits" survived a little better?

Re: Red Star,0346822,Signalman
It would be interesting to know!
I wonder this gentleman himself survived the war? Google maps indicates Medvedevo is near Moscow, looking at where the 31st army fought, would it suggest that the soldier took part in its defense? And would he have been eligible for its campaign medal? Thanks, Tom |

Re: Red Star,0346822,Signalman
The cheapest way is use ОБД Мемориал and "the site". If he died he'll be on the "memorial" if he survived and was awarded more it may mention his campaign Medals on the citation.

Thanks! I didn't know about the memorial site, I'll have to remember that one.
I've searched on there and Podvig but seemingly no hits. Ah well |

Re: Red Star,0346822,Signalman
Make sure you're using the correct Cyrillic as transliterating this "translation" back from Latin will be very problematic.

Re: Red Star,0346822,Signalman
There are other "Вороченко"s on Memorial and other "Андрей Воронченко"s but not this chap. "The site" database is currently down so is giving all inquiries a negative result.
