Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

Private Comrade Kurbachev, M.I. as a rifleman in the 279 Guards Rifle Regiment, 22 Guards Rifle Division, 1 Belorussian Front, participated in combat against the German fascist invaders from January 1945 through 7 April 1945. In offensive fighting near Zemberg, Eastern Prussia, he was seriously wounded in the right shoulder on 7.4.1945.

The shrapnel wound damaged his torso and shoulder nerves. This wound is verified by Statement #2390 issued by EvacHospital #2009 on 22.10.45.

As a result of the wounding to his right arm extremity, he lost the ability to clench a fist and has limited movement of his right arm in the shoulder joint.

At the present, Comrade Kurbachev, M.I. is an invalid of the third category working in the May Day Collective Farm, Dubrovenskii Region, Vitebsk Oblast. He works as a farmer.

For his participation on the front of the Patriotic War and for having been seriously wounded, he is deserving of the Bravery Medal.
