Researching Red Army/Navy Units - Page 14

Here's a picture of the flag. I can't find a date or signature on it, though I'd say it's an older one - if not wartime, then early postwar. I finally did find the 10th Motorized Rifle Regiment. They were disbanded in September 1941, and their assets were used to build the 133rd Tank Brigade. Unfortunately, the unit was redesignated as another... So the question continues...

I don't have my references handy, but it looks like you should start investing in the Soviet orders of battle.

Any idea what is the symbol on the soviet tank?
The picture is taken in the Winter War in the Finland´s front.

Hi Jussi-Pekka,

in German it is the tactical sign for reconnaissance. But I think, it is no tactical symbol.

Just an update. I bought a few books of the Charles Sharp series and they are an exellent source to research Units in the Soviet Army. I haven´t seen anything better yet.
