They are going for much more than that right now, so if you get one for such prices you´ll really get a good deal. The cheapest I´ve seen to date are approx. $90 for a non-swords III class.

Re: Order of 9 September, 1944

If you look in the right places you can find them for the right prices I promise you! I wouldn't have the pile of Bulgarian stuff I had now if I paid the inflated prices that lots of items are listed for. This week alone I have bought dozens of Bulgarian items and there's still Sunday to go!

Order 9 September 1944

I'm going to focus on these orders for a while because they are quite interesting to me. That being said I need some help with fair prices. I kind of want to start out at one of each kind and work my way from there. (Different emissions and such.)

First Class w/ Swords Screwback
First Class Screwback
First Class w/ Swords 5-Side Suspension
First Class 5-Side
Second Class w/ Swords Screwback
Second Class Screwback
Second Class w/ Swords 5-Side
Second Class 5-Side
Third Class w/ Swords Screwback
Third Class Screwback
Third Class w/ Swords 5-Side
Third Class 5-Side

I've already ordered a Third Class 5-Sided Suspension. My girlfriend said she would get me a present and I pointed her toward the Second Class 5-Sided Suspension as it was the cheapest.

I hope you can tell me fair prices to pay.

Very Respectfully,

Michael

Re: Order 9 September 1944

The first class was never screwback it was on a neck ribbon. Both the 1st 2nd and 3rd Neck and screw have 2 different variations one with V L at each side of the bust and without. There are also a transitional variation on which the 2nd and 3rd classes have nuts on the back and are suspended by ribbons. In total if you want every variation of every class I think you would need over $8000 and would have a nice pile of them.

Thank you very much CtahhR. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been collecting Bulgarian Orders? You seem to have all the answers. :thumbsup

Oh and could you show me a picture of the V and L variation? I've been looking and can't find one.

Re: Order 9 September 1944

I've been collecting Bulgarian awards since about May 2007 and I currently have over 1050 of them but I don't by any means have them all. I do however have every Official medal of the Communist Bulgarian regime after finally picking up a 20th Anniversary of the KDS last week. I have spend days and weeks surfing around looking at sites and sales of Bulgarian awards and no matter what you know there is always more to know. Even the most concise of books leaves something out. I've found the best way to learn is to throw money at the problem. So far I've spend many tens of thousands of dollars on Bulgarian awards but I'm only a "beginner" myself. With the obscurity of some of the awards I doubt there is any single collection in the world with them all in. I am in the process of scanning the reverses of all of my numbered orders to make a thread on that at some time in the near future hopefully showing some new or at least obscure variations.
