I don't believe this is Komsomol but some other organisation. I have a cased one as part of a group to a Bulgarian officer I'll dig out when I get home (which will be a few weeks yet).
They date from the late 1970's or early 1980's if I remember correctly. As I thought this was awarded by the Central Trade Union Of Member Counties Of The Council For Mutual Economic Assistance. Not the Komsomol nor even the Soviet Union. A general "Warsaw Pact" award. Awarded to Ivan Georgiev Gr'ncharov on 4th May 1985.

The Badge itself. What is missing from the previous picture is the Moscow Mint Mark - a sign of quality which will also confuse people into thinking it is a Soviet award.
