Taking one for the team...
Greetings to All,
Here is a Order of the Star 3rd class, type 1, that has seen better days. Note that the order is made of silver plated brass. The upper ring is made as part of the order. The connecting link is not cut. v/r Dat Nguyen |

Re: Taking one for the team...
Ouch. Battle damage or a mint flaw?

Re: Order of Star
The first (1980-87) type, second and third classes. (I still seek a first class.)
The only numbering I have ever seen is the number in the center of the reverse, indicating the class. I find it interesting that every specimen of this order I have seen has the ribbon wrapped in this fashion (=~ "backwards"). |

Re: Order Of The Star
Here is a Type 1 3rd Class.
Once upon a time it was upgraded to a 1st Class by being dipped in gold paint, most of that fortunately wiped off. Uncut connecting ring, very little patches where the plating has worn (book and star points) and the all but universal metal testing mark on the reverse. Prices have collapsed (as in many other regions) and these are now nowhere near triple figures ($25-$40 is a closer guide), although the obvious fakes continue to do their rounds.

Re: Order Of The Star.
Type 1 1st class. And the 3 classes reunited (1st and 2nd types).
