Re: Translation Help

The writings are suspicious, but the only reason I see to do it: it's to change II-nd class to I-st.

Doesn't make any sense (scratching left ear by right hand)

Re: Translation Help

I think it's as if he had emphasized the name, the same name, so the greater thickness of the letters.
Thank you friends.

Address Abbreviation Help

Hi guys,

I am translating a great citation for a Glory-3 in Manchuria, but I am stuck on an abbreviation in the person's address. I think it's "куйбышевская область давыдовский раион бадеевский с/е." (At least I think it's с/е, село maybe) --Russian readers, help! :) I am attaching the citation portion with the address, the same abbreviation is listed twice.

Thanks gents!

George

Re: Address Abbreviation Help

It's Куйбышевская область, Давыдовский район, Бадеевский с/с (сельсовет / сельский совет, often translated as 'rural district').

Re: Help needed with Document

Doc,

In summary, this document verifies that she was paid a total of 3,750 rubles for her military service which included three years, nine months and 18 days during the war. Her 750 ruble annual salary consisted of her base pay (600 rubles) and extra pay for field duty (150 rubles). The information was extracted from the archival records of the 49th Pontoon-Bridge Regiment.

Regards,

Re: Translation Help

Could someone please help me with the following text:

В условиях весенней распутицы, сопровождая огнем и колесами поддерживаемую пехоту в частых случаях на руках выкатывал гаубицу на прямую наводку не ослабляя темп ведения огня по противнику.

I believe the gist is something like during the rasputitsa he supported infantry by manually moving the gun to fire on direct-lay without lessening the rate of fire against the enemy.

However, I would like to get it right and am trying to improve my translation skills.
