Guys,

Just a minor correction, they are not silver-, but nickel-plated.

A NKVD marked badge. But it doesn't have the number only the letters on the reverse. Numbers are on the plate, that I'm not sure it's original...

Has anyone got the book I posted in the reference thread? It has a section on the Voroshilov Strelok.

Gentelmen,

This looks Kosher to me...
Anby oppinions?

My only concern is:

The enamel is missing on Roman 2 exactly behind NKVD stamp on the back... Which makes me think it's been stamped to deceive!

Rusty.

I have this badge and it's a mirror reverse, You can see roman numeral II from the back. Maybe this is different variation.

Voroshilov Shooter Badge

Hi,

bought years ago this two Voroshilov Shooter Badges
in the red cardboard.
Does somebody know in which case these badges where
awarded?
Belongs the box to the badges, or just put in the box to keep
the badges safe. It looks like, that the badges where a long
time in these red box.

regards
Andreas

I've never seen a VSB in a box. I have 6-7 VSBs (yeah I buy every one in decent condition I come across) but none in a box. I can't speak to the originality of the box but it is hard to imagine that they would put two different variations face-to-face in the same box.

I just picked up a great early-1941 photo, with a letter on the back, of a young NKVD officer wearing a VSB and what looks lke a BGTO badge. If I remember, I'll post them after I get home in May.
