In which place, precisely, is Marshal Zhukov?

Start price of just $60,000...(no bidders)

"YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 1946 ZIS STALIN LIMOUSINE CABRIOLET.THIS CAR WAS BELIEVED TO BE OWNED AND USED BY JOSEPH STALIN AFTER WORLD WAR II. THE CHASSIS NUMBER IS 2079. I INFORMED THE RUSSIAN AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM IN MOSCOW AND THEY HAVE INTEREST BUT NO MONEY.IT WAS PURCHASED BY A WEALTHY JAPANESE BUSINESSMAN IN THE EARLY 1990'S FOR ABOUT $1.3 MILLION U.S. THEN SENT TO HAMBURG GERMANY FOR COMPLETE RESTORATION BY CIS TEAM. THE CAR STAYED ON DISPLAY AT THE BLACKHAWK MUSEUM IN DANVILLE CALIFORNIA FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS.IT IS NOW OFFERED FOR SALE. IT RUNS AND DRIVES WELL. THERE IS A VIDEO THAT SHOWS JOSEPH STALIN, ROOSEVELT AND CHURCHILL RIDING TOGETHER IN RED SQUARE AT A VICTORY PARADE.THERE ARE OTHER PICTURES AND INFORMATION DEMONSTRATING THIS AS WELL. THIS CABRIOLET FOUR DOOR AND A SEDAN FOUR DOOR WERE HIS PERSONAL LIMOUSINES."

A very Spartan Limo....(no radio telephone?!)

I talked to a guy back in 1992 who was supposedly 'bringing out Stalin's Limousine'. It looks like he probably did!

In the big scheme of things, $60K isn't bad... If I had it, I'd put a bid on it.

Dave,

In fact $60K would be great price for Stalin's car!

I have another story to tell. About a month ago I watched a special on Russian TV about the guy who collects old cars. He had some great cars in his collection.

The jewel certainly was a "Horsh" (not sure about spelling) car that once belonged to German Goering - #2-3 Nazi. After the war that car was taken by Marshal Rokossovsky and he brought it back to Russia. Few years later Rokossovsky gave the car to his driver.

The collectror came accross the car in some used car shop in the 1950's - it was in terrible shape, so it took him almost 10 years to restore the car.

I can't imagine how much a car like that could be sold for today!

In fact - the collector had Audi (they acquired the original manufacturer) people come to his place, as they wanted the car for the museum, and they made him really nice offer.

Well, the collector refused the offer for the reason that the car is part of Russian history, a symbol of our victory in Patriotic War.

Hmmmmm.......$60,000.00 for a new Mercedes Benz sedan, or $60,000.00 for Marshal Stalin's ZIL........ What a no-brainer!!! I'm surprised one of Moscow's mafia noveau riche isn't tooling up and down Leninskiy Prospekt in it at this very moment.
But, really, what a dream car!!! Just as a CAR, notwithstanding its sinister history.

Just as the car w/out the attached history this is a rare automobile! I don't think there are too many factory limo conversions...
