Petrzhikovskij/Pietrzykowski, Stefan Petrovich, Civil War, Leningrad, Polish Army

Again a set that I was uncertain where to add, as this officer moved to Poland after the war, but since most of the documents are in Russian and are about his service in the USSR, this seems to be a better place.

Stefan Petrovich Petrzhikovskiy/Stefan Pietrzykowski was born on 2nd September 1902 in Zawichost near Kielce, Russian Empire at that time.
As the documents will show, he later found himself in Russia and took part in the civil war in Crimea. During the WW2 he found himselfin besiedged Kronshtad and later became a uniform supply officer in the 1st Light Artillery Regiment of the 1st Infantry Regiment of the newly created Polish Army in the USSR.

The oldest document in this set is his Labor booklet from 1935

Gives his date of birth as IX 1902, nationality as Polish, secondary education, profession as Collector (?), Optician Mechanic with4 years of experience, member of the VKP (b), member of machine construction (?) workers trade union, removed from military record.

A month later he became a writer in Uezd Military Komissariat in ?
In September 1919 he volunteered for the Red Army where he served for 10 years, untill his demobilization because of illness.

In October 1931 he became a student at the state ? Trust in Vologda. A month later he was already in some commanding function, but I can't read what the entry says - he was in some Educational-Industrial Plant.
In march 1934 he became a mechanic in State Optical Plant in Leningrad.
He worked there until november when he was released from work on his own wish. A month later he was already a mechanic in the Institute of the Aerial Photography, but in february following Year he was released from work due to reduction of work.
Next month he was already a Chairman of the ZRK (? Committee of???) of the workers of Justice. This work finished in August 1935 with the liquidation of the ZRK
Next month hewas the chairman of the liquidation comission of the ZRK in ?
where he worked until december the same year.
He than became a Shop inspector in the LSPO (Leningrad Consumer Associacions Union?), but a month later was fired due to being unfit for the work.
From february to november he worked in "Lengalpromsoyuz".
Than for a year he worked again as a mechanic, but the writing is unintelligible again.

Re: Petrzhikovskij/Pietrzykowski, Stefan Petrovich, Civil War, Leningrad, Polish Army

In 1940 he was already in Kronshtad - his father-in-law died there on 15th August 1940.

On 14th January 1942 the City VK of Kronshtad issued him a temporary ID in exchange of his Voennyi Bilet - giving his rank as "reserve commander". When he left the army, there were no officers there yet...

Re: Petrzhikovskij/Pietrzykowski, Stefan Petrovich, Civil War, Leningrad, Polish Army

In february, he was issued this memo, stating that he (still as reserve commander!) is in active military service and has the function of commander of ? (last letters seem to be VMF). The document was signed by the chef of staff of the 13 Separate Artillery Unit of the Kronshtad Fortified Sector sr. lt. Letoshko.

On 3rd March, he received another memo stating that he serves in the same unit and receives financial support. Can't make out his function.

Re: Petrzhikovskij/Pietrzykowski, Stefan Petrovich, Civil War, Leningrad, Polish Army

On 18 June 1942 he was send (on a leave or on duty?) to the city of Kronshtad where he was allowed to stay from 6th to 18th June.
The doc was signed by the commander of the same artillery unit cpt. Akimov and Commissar of the unit sr. politruk Glushenko.

He later found himself in Saratov, as on 2.10.1942 he was issued this card for train travel from Saratov to Tatishchevo.

...As well as this ticket.

He was than sent tothe Polish Army where his rankwas verified as lieutenant and becam a uniform supply officer in the 1st Light Artillery Regiment. I'll get back to this part for the reasons explained later.

In the meantime, his daughter was doing well in the 1st class of the primary school in Makar'evo in Ivanovsk Oblast, as she was awarded this diploma.

Re: Petrzhikovskij/Pietrzykowski, Stefan Petrovich, Civil War, Leningrad, Polish Army

When the war was already over (august 1945), he, already as a sr. lieutenant was allowed a 30-day leave to go to Zhitomir (his family was there at that time) in september 1945.

There were no objections from the military mission of the USSR in Poland, however, he returned late, as on 3 october someone from the train station Bieżanów noted that the train was delayed a few days because of the lack of free tracks.

There was some problem with moving his family, as on 15th september this letter was sent from to the chief plenipotentiary of the Polish Temporary Government for evacuation and Chief plenipotentiary of the Government of the Ukrainian SSR from the regional plenipotentiaries in Rovne:
"We are sending the letter from lt. col. Kumpicki pertaining to the situation of the family of sr. lt. of the Polish Army Pietrzykowski, living in Żytomierz [Zhitomir].
The family of sr. lt. Pietrzykowski lives in Zytomierz and cannot be registered in comission in Równe.
Because this is not a unique case of families of military servicemen reporting , wholive outside our comission, we ask for guidance how to act in such situations."

Damaged and incompleate evacuation card for his family - his wife Elżbieta/Evlizaveta Aleksandrovna with her mother, daughter and son.
They left on 25th September. Not sure when they arrived, but later they settled down in Świnoujście (probably they missed the Baltic Sea), as they were registered there in december 1946.

Re: Petrzhikovskij/Pietrzykowski, Stefan Petrovich, Civil War, Leningrad, Polish Army

In 1967 he was awarded Order of the Red Star as a participant of the Civil War.

Here's an invitation from the Embassey to the awarding ceremony and its envelope.

In 1984 he send some of his documents to the museum of heroic defence and liberation of Sevastopol - he received this "thank you" letter and photocopies of donated documents.

The letter gives some additional information on him:
"Dear comrade Petrzhikovskiy!
We are truely greatful for your answer to our request and decission to send our museum materials on your life.
We were were elighted to find out that in the Polish People's Republic lives a former warrior of the Soviet Army, bravely fighting for liberation of Crimea from Wrangel's troops.
Your participation in the heroic storming of Perekop - one more proof of combat brotherhood of our peoples that was forged in the joint fights for freedom.
The museum of Heroic Defense and Liberation of Sevastopol aims at exhibiting relics of the past, so we kindly ask You, Dear Stefan Petrovich, if possible,to send us more photographs and documents on Your combat experience of patriot-internationalist (if necessary, we can make for you xerox copies and photocopies of that documents).
In the exposition of our museum they can be seen every year by circa 2 million of Soviet people. We would also like to present in the future Your orders and medals.
I am sending You publications on Crimea, Kakhovka and Leningrad as well as a set of post cards "Soviet military commanders - heroes of the Civil War"
We wish You goodness, good health and happiness!
With sincire respect,
Education secretaryof the museum Valentina Vladimirovna Egorenko"
