Stefan,

It is definitely not pre-WWII as this model was introduced in 41 or 42 as far as I remember. Check the stamps inside, there should be a 2-digit date on one of them.

Marc, thank you for the fast reply!
Not every helmet from this period had these characteristic "2-digit" stamps!
The only numbers I found inside the helmet are as follows:1-42/4

Cheers!

Photo no 4 show remains of the "spider" stamp. This is where you could have seen what year it was made. I have never seen a WW2 helmet with a REAL "spider" stamp in it. Most of these on the market are marked 1948 for some reason.

It's also the fakers favourite. A little "creative" work and you got yourself a 1943 marked helmet.:angerr

I have to agree with Kim. This is a post-WWII helmet. I also have always seen this LMZ spider stamp on post-war helmets. And to my knowledge these chinstraps are mostly seen on post-war helmet. This is a Ssh-40 model. Look here: http://www.personal.kent.edu/~rclaws...ts/rivets.html

I would add this thought: it's a nice helmet. IF available for say US$50, it doesnt matter if wartime or post war. If it is say US$200, then save your money and get a definitively ww2 helmet.

Also, buy Dr. Bob's book :)

I´ve paid the helmet not more than 25 Euro.

Where can I find genuine Soviet (ww2) helmets?
