Mike - CONGRATS!!! in acquiring your first award document...very nice. The tarnishing on the silver medal, is that because it is made of silver or something else going on with it?

hello gentlemen, the oxydation of the silver-plating of the 70ies medals is common, sometimes you really believe it could be made of solid silver... they got rid of the problem with the late 80ies cupro-nickel medals.

I know presenting silver content medals to members of the NVA and MfS was scarce by the 1970s. You never know what a collector may have in their collection from this time period. :thumbsup Quote:

This is a Verdienstmedaille der NVA in .900 silver from the years 1960-1968,
