Note the different type of ribbon.

Ch.
For me it´s a fake, at least the suspension is, since the stars are for shoulderboards.
BTW, Didn´t the friendship between China and the USSR already end at the time when this award type suppoosedly appeared?

The Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship, Alliance and Mutual Assistance or Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship and Alliance for short, is the treaty of alliance concluded between the People's Republic of China and the Soviet Union in February 1950, after difficult negotiations in Moscow between Mao Zedong and Joseph Stalin. The treaty did not prevent relations between Beijing and Moscow from drastic deterioration in the late 1950s - early 1960s, at the time of the Sino-Soviet split. The treaty expired in 1979.

regards Eddie.

Soviet LTC w/Chinese-USSR medal

Photo of aviator dated 15.9.51, taken at Kharkov Military Academy. Surprisingly early photo of this decoration being worn in my opinion.

Re: Soviet LTC w/Chinese-USSR medal

It´s quite interesting that the chinese medal is placed before the soviet ones.

Esteban,

In reality, the Chinese medal is in the lowest priority position - note the Medal for Valor at the top of the row. The Soviets used this top to bottom precedence for a period of time.

Oh, I see. thanks! I didn´t notice that it was a bravery medal and the precedence order. Bulgarians used this precedence order till the end though.

Friendship medal. Sino-Soviet or Chinese Russian

This seems to be a common item around the 'net these days.

I'm assuming it was originally issued before the "split"?

This particular inamge shows what might be a brass/tombak medal with real enamel, and it looks nice aside from the loop. It would show well in any collection on a 5-sided suspension with a generic, red ribbon.

I've also seen the pot metal plus cheap red paint versions on eBay for 99 cents as well.

Shall we share any info & images we have about this item?
