Do you mean on the photo or while holding on your hands?

It becomes easy to see under UV light. "Cold" enamel shows up bright red under UV light while the "Hot" enamel doesn't really change color. :thumbsup
I'll try to post a photo today.

Here's an example of a RS with replaced enamel photographed under UltraViolet light. It looks fine until you zap it under a UV light--you can clearly see the two replaced rays. :thumbsdown

Re: how to know enamel is "cold" or "hot"?

Now that's a damned good tip. Would you consider showing us a 'before and after' shot?
Like the same item in the same position, in regular light and then in black (UV) light?

As far as fake orders goes; the quality of the casting, the MMs, the serials numbers and other specifics should tell if an order is fake or not. As opposed to replaced/repaired enamel on an original order.

Thanks Eric. :thumbsup

Sure thing, here it is in regular light. Not the best photo and some signs of enamel being replaced, but it generally looks "ok" before getting a UV light shined on it. You can buy a tiny UV flashlight (about mini-maglite sized) from a militaria supply site for this purpose.

It´s a so well picked enamel that seen from the normal picture is very hard to tell.
