Thanks Dietrich,
When I do any work with illustrator, or any work where my goal is to create a bold graphic interpretation of the subject matter, it's best to simplify shapes rather than try to capture every twist and turn. Unless your goal is to completely re-create the subject in every detail. I wanted the Order of Lenin to look good when it was shrunk down to the size of a U.S. nickel. To do that I really had to be selective with what shapes I chose to include in the drawing. If I had not been, the reduced image would have looked like a blob because all of the details would have been crammed together and gotten confusing for the viewer. I worked for about 3 weeks off and on for the Order of Lenin. I would work for about 15 minutes then put it away. Still want to do that ORBL though. Art

Art,
It seems you are very careful when drawing stuff in computer. Now I see why my work is so "made from scratch-like"... I take 3-5 hours to paint a scan! I must learn from you. Esteban

Esteban,
I worked on in for 15 minutes at a time over a period of 3 weeks. Sometimes I worked on it a little more, sometimes a little less. I would say I probably had about 15-20 hours into the drawing. Thanks, Art
