Interesting little badge. Brass and hot opaque and transparent enamels; mint marked (MMD) on the back and on the nut. Given, primarily, to guards from the MVD and, perhaps, MGB and KGB for watching over prisoners involved in the construction. Now called the Zhiguli Hydroelectric Station. Badge is listed and shown in "History of Awards and Badges of the Russian MVD" by M. A. Rogov (2004).

Greg - interesting badge. How rare is this badge?

This badge is sort/kinda rare... certainly not as rare nor as valuable as the badge for the Dneproges hydroelectric dam (1927-32, silver, numbered), but rare nonetheless. Nowadays these go for $90+; pretty good for brass.
