Today is the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. Let's not forget what happened on April 26th 1986.

Chernobyl Anniversary
All of us should take a moment today to remember the disaster and those that continue to be affected by it. Such a tragedy.

Maybe someone who is a scientist would know this—it is possible that Soviet awards, etc that some of us have in our possession are radioactive because they happened to be near Chernobyl, and we do not know about their radioactivity?

on a more serious note: I believe not only the medals were stroke very far aways from Tchernobyl region, but almost they were decerned to the liquidators when they were back at home. And just think of the classic soviet inertia to take a decision about awards and to start fabrication...

We lived not far from Chernobyl, when the accident happened. Terrible memories. Terrible experience. Eric |
