Need help identifying...

Bought a uniform today (jacket/pants). I've come across similar uniforms on the net, but not one like it. (I believe it's a 1-star generals uniform, but not sure what kind :o)

Something that got me curious is that someone has ripped off/removed the collars that was embroidered on. Also after buying the uniform i noticed that inside a pocket inside the jacket there was a plastic bag with two collar tabs.

Pictures of the uniform i bought under (and the cap i had from before):

Re: Need help identifying...

It is a soviet general's (major-general) everyday uniform, but someone have removed the collar embroidery - the only thing to do with that is to make a new one - and that is a work for a specialist.
The collar tabs are also general's, but are for an overcoat.

As for the cap - I would have to have a look at the inside of it, but it looks like officer's everyday cap with officer's parade badge.

Re: Need help identifying...

Large size (60), date is almost certainly 1989 which fits the visor type, and is definately not general's.

Re: Need help identifying...

Ok, thank you so much :)

Any idea where where to go if i was to get the collars broidered on again?
Would probably need a close-up picture of a collar, and someone with good skills with a needle and thread :)

Re: Need help identifying...

It will be a difficult task to have the embroidery done... As mentioned, the cap is not for general - it is an officers cap. If You're interested, I have a spare cap for general (with embroidery still present ;) )

Re: Need help identifying...

The cap for general doesn't have to have embroidery - from 1969 to 1980 the generals everyday caps had no embroidery.
As for the embroidery on the collar, I know only one specialist who could do it, but he's in Poland, so the transport costs would make it not worth it.
