Post GPW Army Uniform
Dear Members,
I would like to show and get some opinions on this uniform that I bought 2 years ago regarding authenticity and value. I do not think the medals are fake, since they are cheap :) All the information I was able to gather are the following: Shoulder boards for Colonel of the Soviet Army Forces. Collar tabs for Motorized Rifle Soviet Army Forces. Soviet badge for Distinguished Border Guard, 1st Class, 3rd Type Soviet badge for Distinguished Border Guard, 2nd Class, 3rd Type Soviet badge for the participation at the Parade for the 40th of the Victory. Medal for the Anniversary of the Soviet Armed Forces 70 years Medal for the Anniversary of the Soviet Armed Forces 60 years Medal for the Irreproachable Service in the Armed Forces of the USSR 15 years Medal for the Irreproachable Service in the Armed Forces of the USSR 10 years Medal for the Irreproachable Service in the Armed Forces of the USSR 20 years As far as the medals I should say that, there is one hole in the uniform, hence maybe a missing medal, plus the last anniversary and the last irrepr. service are not included in the medal bar but are added singularly (this seems ok). What do you think about this piece? (see my message below for image of the tunic-dd) I thank you in advance for the big favour! My best regards

Your tunic appears "put together." For starters, the shoulder boards and lapel insignia indicate Armed Forces ground forces, while border guards badges are pinned on. The good news is all the components are probably genuine, just thrown together on a tunic.

Hello Marco,
Welcome to the forum! I agree with Desantnik; the uniform is probably fine, but then someone added the medals to make it better. However, please do not post outside links. Please attach the images to the images, as shown here. Best, DougD Moderator-Cloth |

Thank you very much desantnik and DougD!
So basically I should remove all badges and medals and leave the shoulder and collar tabs? Thus having a medal-less army uniform and uniform-less borders' medals? :D Or just the 2 borders badges are not of the uniform? Since the medals for service in the army, parade and anniversary seem to me of the army too! Any insight on this? Thanks DougD for the clarification and for the welcome! I'll surely take it into consideration for my future posts! Best regards,

Here is the uniform without the KGB badges, do you think it might be as original?
Thanks :)

Quote:
The znachok for the Victory Parade anniversary would not have been worn permanently on the uniform, although it may have been earned by the recipient. |

Thanks desantnik,
Still, I am actually wondering if these medals are not too few for a colonel. Thanks to everybody who replied!
