General Director Of Railways
I acquired this tunic and cap some time back.
The rank is apparently "General Director, Third Rank", of the Soviet railway system. The state seal buttons are dated 1984. I am presuming that this light gray tunic and cap were used as a dress uniform. As Tretov has noted in another venue, a Director of this rank would likely have had a graduation badge for a higher institution, but the engineering graduate badge that is on the tunic came with it and I have not changed it. The tunic has three holes above the bullion winged wheel breast insignia, and I placed the three railway badges on the tunic. |

Heck, I knew that the uniform was worth getting if for no other reason than to serve as a nice display backdrop for some Soviet Railway badges ! :chuckle
