Cleber,
These are from 1974 and 1975 (Navy), both were awarded for mine clearing, though I am unsure how many mines had to be defused to merit this badge. it was worn on the right side. Alexei |

Both these badges are in Borisov's Badges book, plates number 124 and 125. There is a good description included in the book and once translated, I'll see if the information being sought is available.

The book I am referring to is called: The Badges of Soviet Armed Forces 1918-1991 by V.A. Borisov It is in Russian. Check with Nota Bene(Alexei) if he has one for sale. You could also place an add in the marketplace area.

The Navy badge dates to 1975 and was awarded to Navy personnel for showing bravery during de-mining operations. It seems both would have been issued with a document. They are made of aluminium and cold enamel.

Minesweeping Badge "MADE IN USSR" !?!?
I got this several years ago from Ebay and I never noticed until I scanned it, but this badge was "MADE IN USSR".
What's that? Other than this, it looks like the real thing to me, even though this is the only one I handed. |

I have seen this on many pieces of East German militaria imported into the US. Its to get through customs.

So, if that is the case, is it just text that was stamped on the back of the original suspension by the exporter at some point, or is the suspension not original to that badge? Last edited by CtahhR; 09-21-2012 at 04:32 PM. |
