Badge "Instructor DOSAAF".
This was given to me by the owner of the Dzerzhinsky Artillery Academy graduation badge.
DSC03959.jpg DSC03962.jpg DOSAAF (the Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Fleet) was the successor to OSOAVIAKhIM, although it was less focused on the preparation of military reserve, and more about civil engagement with the military, sports, and support to defense-applicable military research programs. In some areas, membership was 'strongly encouraged' with mandatory annual dues. DOSAAF is currently known as ROSTO, although its responsibilities have changed significantly. |
