Oh by the way.....I got a Lenin for Xmas

More like a Lenin Tshirt. see below.
I told my sister I wanted one (that's the best way to get what ya want).
This is from "official forum merchandise" page at cafepress.
Has already been worn with pride. Can't wait to be "awarded" a Nevsky.

I'm really impressed how great the colors look. When artwork is output onto anything black a white background has to be printed first to get the colors to be bright. Good to see the quality is there.

This was my first attempt to re-create a Soviet award using Adobe illustrator. I had to carefully draw over an image of an original screwback, then fill-in with color. It was fun but very slow process. Depending on the demand I would be happy to pick another award to concentrate on!

Christophe,

Yes, all the items forsale in the forum merchandise shop were designed by me. I wish I had more time, I'd hand draw all the Soviet awards. It's very relaxing and you really appreciate the beauty of these awards when you are looking at them in great detail.

Art,

I'm sure that in a short time to come, you will be able to design us either a brand new order, or new Orders of Lenin, of Kutuzov, for Service to the Motherland...

Sure! As I mentioned earlier, I really enjoyed getting up close to the award as much as I did. If anyone has any suggestions on what they'd want feel free to let me know..BTW, attached is the graphic I used for the items in the forum shop that use the lenin screwback graphic. The original is not limited to the 50K restriction we have on the forum so the colors are not grainy and all the edges are razor sharp. I apologize for having to put the website name over the top, just don't want this showing up somewhere else

Art,

I'm sure it would be a time consuming design, but I think the Order of Friendship of Peoples would be an excellent choice for future t-shirts, clocks, or other offerings. I think it is one of the best-looking orders and would display very nicely on some of the products.

For a while I've been meaning to buy a couple of mugs. Because of this thread, I went ahead and bought two of them (one poster mug, and the Homeland order mug). I got them a couple weeks back and they're great! On Saturdays when my wife makes my coffee (yeah, I have a great wife) she'll put it in one or the other mug. Makes for a great morning!
