There is always something new to collect. I used to collect gas masks until I hit the wall of only exceptionally rare or expensive things left to add. At least your patch collection is somewhat more compact than 160 gas masks, (and about 60 helmets to go with them). Good luck with DDR collecting!

I prefer to think of it as "built to last". The 4 sleeve stars I posted date 1922, 1920, 1937 & 1940 respectively

I also have, in my collection the same type of "ГО" patch. It is painted-printed on a thin sheet of flesh-colored latex. See the attached photo of the obverse and reverse. Cheers, Jim
