Ioan Florea Dumitru, Submariner/Naval Officer.
Here is a trio (believed to be a complete group) to Ioan Florea Dumitru. A submariner of the NMS Marsuinul (The Mereswine/The Harbour Porpoise/Phocoena Phocoena) during Romania's "Crusade against Communism". Later an officer of the Romanian People's Navy and finally the Romanian People's Army.
Groups to Axis Submariners are rare enough to come across let alone those that were also awarded by a Communist Regime. Dumitru participated in 100% of the combat missions of the NMS Marsuinul (1 of them), one of only three Romanian Submarines to participate in combat patrols during World War Two.

Re: Ioan Florea Dumitru, Submariner/Naval Officer.
His first award of the new regime was the Jubilee Medal "10 Years Of The First Infantry Unit Of The People's Army Of Romania".

Re: Ioan Florea Dumitru, Submariner/Naval Officer.
The Medal "Military Merit" 1st Class completes his trio. Awarded by Decree 348 of 1954. Unfortunately the Document is missing.

Nice group. Didn't he receive any pre-RPR awards as a submariner?

Re: Ioan Florea Dumitru, Submariner/Naval Officer.
Any mention of pre-RPR awards have been removed from his RPR/RSR/RR records but he most likely got a Submariner Badge and the Medal "Crusade Against Communism" with two or three bars. He most likely ditched those in late 1944.
His Military Booklet fills in lots of information on his military career.

Re: Ioan Florea Dumitru, Submariner/Naval Officer.
The booklet covers his military career from 1930 to 1995.

Re: Ioan Florea Dumitru, Submariner/Naval Officer.
In the reserve from 1957 to 1995 (Although I don't know how effective an 81 year old submariner would be).
