Table Medal "Grigorij Ivanovich Kotovskij 1881-1925"

Soviet bronze medal dedicated to Gregory Ivanovich Kotovsky (1881-1925), Civil War hero, Red Cavalry Commander.

Front of the medal shows general's portrait, text in Russian reads:
"Gregory Ivanovich Kotovsky, 1881-1925".
Reverse side of the medal shows sword, horn and "Budionovka" - (pointy hat with ear flaps and large sewn on star, resembles old Russian helmet. Named after Semion Budenny, commander of the first red cavalry army in the 1919).
Slogan on the Red Army banner reads: "To The Soviet Power!"

Medal was designed by Russian sculptor I. Komshilov, made in 1981, by the Leningrad (St. Petersburg) Mint (marked on the medal).

Amazing medal, showing Kotovsky wearing his 2 Red Banner orders!
