Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits:

In order to ensure the combat communications between the 14th Army staff and the 31st Rifle Corps it was necessary to install a pole wire line in a heavily mined area. This laborious and responsible task was carried out by Sergeant Makalyukin, a patriot of our motherland. By nightfall, the unit had run out of communications materials, but the line to the command post needed to be extended by another 10 kilometers. The first to respond to the unit commander's appeal to find a trophy cable and finish installing the line, even though night had fallen, was comrade Makalyukin. A bold signaller, he mobilized his squad and made his way through the minefields, thus ensuring unit command possessed communications.

Comrade Makalyukin is a true patriot, dedicated to our motherland. I apply for comrade Makalyukin to be awarded the Order of Glory, 2nd Class.
