North Korea beat Japan!
Pretty shocking news. They beat Japan in the world cup qualifier which took place in Pyong Yang today in the Kim Il Sung stadium. Score: 1-0.
Japan was already qualified though and DPRK still won't reach the world cup. Perhaps the tactic of delaying the Japanese players at customs for 4 hours helped? By the way, we're talking about football here. |

Well, maybe the customs had something to do with it, maybe DPRK's soccer players still get drugs from the Government, or maybe Japans team is just lost the match old-school style.
Soccer for you, football for us. But I can't say I'm a soccer supporter, at all. American football, and NHL, yes, that's proper sport. |

Re: North Korea beat Japan!
To be absolutely correct it is "Association Football".
From Wikipedia: The rules of football were codified in England by the Football Association in 1863 and the name association football was coined to distinguish the game from the other forms of football played at the time, specifically rugby football. The term soccer originated in England (I am surprised about this!!), first appearing in the 1880s as an Oxford "-er" abbreviation of the word "association". Within the English-speaking world, association football is usually called football (or colloquially footy) in the United Kingdom, and soccer in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. Other countries may use either or both terms, and may also have local names for the sport. Simon |
