His Medal "For Bravery" #1433711 awarded 15th September 1944.

Rifleman, 5th Rifle Company Guards Private Sushko, Dmitrij Aksent'evich for that, while in battle for the expansion of the bridgehead on the left bank of the river Vistula showed himself to be a bold and valorous fighter. Performing combat tasks, one of the first to burst into the edges of Studzianki and destroyed a German submachinegunner. In the battle was wounded.

1904 year of birth, Ukrainian, Worker, Non-Partisan, Education 5 Classes, Called to the Red Army by Zaporozh'e Regional Military Commissariat in April 1944.

His Medal "For Combat Merits" awarded on 21st February 1945.

Rifleman, 8th Rifle Company, Guards Private Sushko, Dmitrij Aksent'evich for that, during the time of the storm of the enemy forward area 14-01-1945 performed the combat order, boldly rose to the attack, dragging with him other fighters of his section.

1904 year of birth, Ukrainian, Non-Partisan, In the Patriotic War from 1944, Wound not had, In the Red Army from April 1944, Called to Stalin Regional Military Commissariat, Zaporozh'ja, Awarded the Medal For Bravery - Order of the 137th Guards Rifle Regiment #057/N of 15-09-1944.

The battle of Studzianki was in fact quite a popular "legend" (not that it didn't happen, just that it has become somewhat legendary - to the point where everyone in the country recognised the name - even if they didn't know where it is) of the WW2 in the Polish post-war historiography.
There was even a good work published by Janusz Przymanowski in 1970's on the battle - if Sushko was indeed among the first who got to the town, a chance exists that he was mentioned in the book. I have lent my copy to a friend, but I will check when I get it back.
