Nikolenko, Ivan Pavlovich

Cinema Technician Senior Sergeant Warehouse Of The People's Commissariat Of Defence #966. Cinema Film Storage, Tavrinsk Military District.

Military Specialist III. 6th Class Education, Crimean Ukrainian, Born 1915, In service 1936-1939, "western Ukraine" 1939-40 and mobilised 19th August 1941.

A film technician may seem to be a rather boring position but not when you pair it with the fact that he was in the Political Section of the 13th Separate Mechanised Brigade of Spetsnaz.

Have fun translating his 22nd February 1943 awarded Medal "For Combat Merits" citation. Yes it does say Lake Hasan!

Re: Red Army Identification Booklets.

Also this Post-war Red Star issued when the Brigade was in the Reserve after storming Königsberg.

Somehow I don't think it was the usual sort of "Film Club" he was in. "Spindulys".

Red army ID booklet possibly fake?

Hello everybody,

I recently i found this seems okay but do you think it could have been filled in later?

I looked through the forum, and i find it very hard to distinguish between period documents and ones filled at a later date, i am terrible at paper items.

I am sorry if this is a waste of time or the answer is obvious, i just wanted a second opinion.

Thank you for your time!

Will

Re: Red army ID booklet possibly fake?

It seems fine, although without the name the information can not be verified against other resources.

Re: Red army ID booklet possibly fake?

Thank you CtahhR!

That seems like quite a time intensive thing to do for a ID document, but i suppose its a sure fire way of finding out.

Re: Red army ID booklet possibly fake?

With the correct name, it could possibly be corroborated in less than a minute.
