Since the Regiment’s formation, Comrade Kupriyanov has proven himself the best master and specialist of his trade. He is bold and brave. Despite heavy enemy fire (bombing and artillery shellings) he has regularly provided the Regiment’s personnel clean undergarments to the front lines under difficult conditions and in a timely manner, additionally (?) providing the personnel with leather footware and quality equipment, enabling exemplary appearance of the individual soldier and officer. There have been no instances of shortages of any type of supply. Despite heavy enemy artillery and small arms fire on 24 June 1944 near Efremenka, Comrade Kupriayanov organized a delivery of a change of undergarments to the personnel and inspection of equipment on the frontline positions. As required, he has repaired items and swapped out equipment needing replacement. He is deserving of the Order of the Red Star.

Nice one Norm :thumbsup

In the end it doesn't matter what these people did - if they were brave they deserved their medals. Nice one to add to the collection :)

Here is the original citation. Couldn't they have just gone "commando"?

This does however remind me of a joke.

Berija's Driver "Hitler thought he had caught Comrade Stalin with his pants down in 1941. What he didn't realise was Stalin went with his trousers up!"
-"How do you know?"
"Berija told me as we sped from the Kuntsevo Dacha!"
