"Sankt Petersburg" submarine
New russian project 677 Lada class diesel-electric submarine "Sankt Petersburg".
This new, fourth postwar generation Project 677 Lada class diesel-electric submarine is a successor to the Type 877EKM and Type 636 Kilo-class submarines. The Lada type is significantly smaller (1,600 tons) than the previous Kilo type submarines (2,325 tons). The "Sankt Petersburg" has been launched on 28 October 2004. This conventionally powered fourth-generation submarine, designed by the Rubin Central Design Bureau, is one of the first submarines specifically built for the Russian Navy since the collapse of the USSR. I have been told it is the first time it was possible for foreigners to approach it so close. Ch. Pic : © Christophe – ChR Collection |

It looks as sloppily made as the ones made before. However thanks for sharing the pictures! They`re very nice!

I just have to add, to be fair, that the material used to make it stealth may sometimes look "sloppy"... but it is high technology !!

Guys,
Here is the badge of the Nastoichiviy. Struck at LMD in heavy metal (steel?) and with epoxy enamel, very nice multiple-piece construction. Marc Last edited by Lapa; 07-17-2005 at 01:23 PM. |

By the way, my father is going to Russia in two weeks. I want him to bring me a winter greatcoat, but he doesn`t remember where is the market of soviet stuff. Anybody have adresses or places where he can find uniforms and other soviet stuff?
