Neat. I don't often come across Soviet Era documents from Czechoslovakia. It's like they had giant doc burning parties throughout the country/countries - and I can't blame them after the 1968 "Prague Spring."

Re: Badge "For Strengthening Military Friendship".
Most probably real, awards from the Eastern Bloc are most often real, as there is only a very small market for counterfeit items. It is one of the upsides of buying soviet bloc items, instead of USSR, the bad side is, there are less refference materials and experts that specialize in the subject, hence it is also harder to positivley confirm the authenticity of them.
At a glance, from the picture, I also see nothing that is an outright red flag and it came with the doc, so I would presume it is real. That being said, though, I am no expert. |

Re: Badge "For Strengthening Military Friendship".
Don't fall into the trap of being complacent with thinking the fakes aren't out there as if it can be faked it will be, if it can't someone will still try. I've got a fake Soviet "Veteran Of Labour" packaged up with a fake Bulgarian Order "People's Liberty 1941-1944" 2nd Class, two awards of minimal monetary value even when real. References, especially in English can be few and far between if they even exist at all. There are no fully comprehensive guides to any of the nations in any format or language. As soon as someone thinks they have researched everything to the ends of the earth and publishes a book, something new pops up.
Although the Soviet Union gets the most attention thrown at it , there are considerably more awards that need to be studied and understood from each and every Soviet aligned nation post 1945 (Not only due to the fact that all of their awards were created during that time). Soviet awards are far easier to collect and discuss as they were produced in far greater number than the awards of the smaller nations. This section of this forum needs and will get vast expansion. With the input of the vast combined knowledge of the users I'm sure we can make a solid yet flexible resource.

Re: Badge "For Strengthening Military Friendship".
That is true with most of the items most of the time. So far I have just over 1400 Bulgarian awards in my collection and have only been sold two "bad" items. I suppose with the Soviet items you can buy 1400 items and have two good items if you like buying from the Baltic Mint.

Re: Badge "For Strengthening Military Friendship".
Once demand starts to rise, the forgeries will get to work, scamming people for money. But since demand for these items is pretty rare, there are very few professional forgeries for them. Hence, there are few fakes and those that are counterfeit are easy to spot, because of the lack of professionalism.
