Pilot's Badge.

Here is a nicely worn and smoke stained example of the Pilot's Badge 1st Class. A 681-1944 coat of arms example of the multi-piece construction imperial remnant.

Pilot Badge

Hi!
I was looking for information in this forum about this badge and I didn´t find anything (maybe it has another name?)...
So I want to know if you have information about this badge.
I think it has 4 classes (1st, 2nd, 3rd and instructor), but nothing more...
Fair price to buy one?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Pilot's Badge.

A fair price is c$20-$25. I believe the well worn 1st Class was c$12.

Re: Pilot's Badge.

Ups! Didn´t see the original thread. Sorry!
About that price, is a "normal" price outside Bulgaria's markets? (Can´t go to Bulgaria now :p)
I usually see them from 75$, so far from that prices :D
Thanks for the info CtahhR!

Re: Pilot's Badge.

The 1st was bought in England (Doncaster I believe), so certainly not a "Bulgarian" price. As I frequently remind people, if you see a "buy it now" that has not been bought by now it will be overpriced. Patience is a key element in getting items for the best prices. "I want it right now!" is usually greeted with "I'll take your money right now".

The exact role of these Badges is rather blurry. No doubt someone will come across some Ministry Of National Defence regulations at some point. I am researching some groups to Pilots (including at least one fighter pilot) so I'll see if that helps in any way.

Re: Pilot's Badge.

Hi CtahhR,
Sorry if you understood I talked to you rude, not my intention, for sure :)
What you say about buy it now and take money right now is huge truth, that´s why I asked for the price, but was SO different from what I could find on Internet that I was shocked.
If you get that information, please, put it here to learn a little bit more about this badge :D
Thanks!

Re: Pilot's Badge.

Don't worry about it. I certainly didn't construe anything as rude.

Very frequently you can find good deals on items when the person(s) involved are not used to, or willing to handle certain items. Often dealers get giant lots of things and in that mix sometimes there are things completely out of their expertise - sometimes the real deals are there! There are also people who inherit things and then have no idea and just want a quick sale. Then there are the items offered in the wrong place or wrong time and then you can really strike a bargain. Always keep eyes wide open!

I've learnt to just grab the best prices rather than go out with a list and tick the items off of it. There are some more obscure items I have in piles and then some extremely common stuff I don't have because the prices are just inflated. Bulgarian items are pretty low demand generally and with such low demands rather than the sky being the limit on prices the bottom is.

These Badges I would think are more likely in the sphere of interest to more people who want Pilot Badges from each country rather than actually to people collecting Bulgarian awards. I don't mind I'll collect almost anything from anywhere - in doing so really stretching each penny that bit further.

Re: Pilot's Badge.

Hi again!
Can anyone tell me why this badge was given? Whats the difference between those 3 classes? There were also instructor & paratrooper, no?
Thanks!

Re: Pilot's Badge.

I have a pile of qualification documents that will shed light when I can get round to posting them.

The "aerial" Badges were complicated in being left over Tsarist items and then awards of the various "organisations".

Firm regulations they did not have.
