These are Commemorative Medals and do not have citations. There is only going two be two outcomes. You can learn the awarding Military Commissariat of the Jubilee awards or find out that the recipients also were awarded other items that are not those listed here.

These are Soviet Medals and not Russian.

I'll see if I can find any information of these recipients but with so little information supplied it may be too general or unsuccessful.

There are two Veniamin Rulevs one Vasil'evich and one Georgievich. No results for Zinivyj Jaroshenko or Valentin Grigor'evich Cherevan. Cherevan could well have been a post-Great Patriotic War officer just in service whilst these awards were issued to all in service.

Re: Researching WW2 veterans

Thx for the quick responce.

I'm just starting with collecting soviet medals and i don't know anything about them. I have mutch to learn. I don't know the difirence between Russian and soviet. There are allot of Commemorative Medals and i bought allot of them but as i seen some info i might be over doing. My own stupidety. hehe

i will dig the forum to learn.

The info i gave of the vets is all i have, and i know its nothing. I will ask the seller if he knows more about those vets. But i'm afraid its gonna be nothing as its from a dealer.

Many thx for the help.

Be very aware! Read through this forum. Dealers want money. Look through the researched Medal/Orders sections to see how it's done.

Re: Researching WW2 veterans

I will m8 thx for the info.

as i told i have contacted the dealers and got a response from 1 of them.

this is what he wrote.

all I can say is that Mr. Cherevan Valentiv Grigorievich was in rank of engineer-major and served in military unit # 79510.
I also found a person with such name who was a junior technician-lieutenant during WW2 and he received
medals "For Victory against Germany" and "For battle merit" and two Orders of Red Star.
I think that was him.

Re: Researching WW2 veterans

79510 was the 131st Mixed Aviation Division.

I have checked podvignaroda.ru ("the site") and there is no Череван, Валентив Григорьевич or Череван, Валентин Григорьевич or even any Череван, Григорьевич.

This is all the results Cherevan brings;

So either #1 the recipient's name is wrong somewhere and you have the "dumb" (meaning awards that had no write-up were just awarded) awards and the awards with citations are missing or #2 the dealer is telling tales.

Re: Researching WW2 veterans

That's the Chap! "Cherevan'".

Looks like lots of items missing from his grouping. 5 awards (4 with write ups) shown there but he will also have been awarded a least 3 awards for long service. So that's 8 awards before looking at commemorative medals of which he would have got XXX and 40 years of the Armed Forces, 20, 30, 40 years of victory (and possibly more) so it looks like his group would have been at least 14 awards in size at one point.
