Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
While in the defense near “No Name” Hill (Hungary) on 19th January, 1945, Comrade Petrov firmly held his occupied line, repelling four enemy counterattacks with his machinegun over the period of a day, disregarding the danger and the worsening situation, during which time he killed as many as 30 German-Hungarian soldiers.
He is deserving of the Order of the Red Star.
