Honor Guard Visor caps

I have been told on a lot of ocations that the honer guard visor cap of then had a elastic band attached to it.

it was supposed to be from button to button and its purpose was to secure the visor cap better on the head.

the thing is that i have never seen this in practice nor on a cap.

does anyone have pictures of such a construction on a cap.
or of it in use?

I have heard of this too, I have seen it on VERY few caps, to be honest Im not sure if many Honor Guards bother with them at all.

I think those straps were used primarily when the weather called for it. I have seen them in a few pics but never encountered any such for sale.

how do the things look?

is it really a special design or is it just a normal elastic band that is widely available for sewing.

From the ones I have seen they appear to be a black cloth elastic chin strap sewn into the cap, but I could be wrong.

Or you can use a NCO cap chin strap as well....

cool to finely see a example.

i have had a cap for many years that came to me with a double strap.
it had a officer one in front and a EM around the back.

are there any other examples.

Oh I have seen many of caps like that in photos of modern Russian police!
They have a black strap along the back of the cap and officers cord in the front, when they think their caps are gonna go flying away on them they just drop the back cord. :)

Regarding the elastic band/string,it simply seems tied to each chinstrap button as on the pic below...
