Medal of a Laureate of RSFSR State Prize in the Field of Literature and Arts, #67, 1970s-80s.

In solid gold (probably 23 K), suspension device in gilded silver. Exceptional quality and excellent condition. Note the extremely low serial number. The ribbon shows the colors of the national flag of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic while it was a part of the Soviet Union. Note the extremely well made and intricate suspension, similar in construction to that of Lenin Prize and USSR State Prize Medals.

One of the highest decorations of the Soviet Russia, this medal was awarded only to the very best (and politically correct) artists, poets, actors etc. The exact number of issues is unknown but judging by the rarity of the medal, it was probably in the dozens, not hundreds.
