Due to some posts regarding Soviet daggers, I learned about some books about them:

Russian Edged Weapons, XVIII - XX C", 2 volumes, by A.N. Kulinskiy St.Petersburg, C. 2001. In Russian with partial English translation. The first reference book to include truly detailed information on Imperial Russian and Soviet bayonets and combat knives, including recent types.

Shows astonishing variety of daggers and presentation swords, including experimental or rare models - plus cornucopia of interesting details on edged weapons development. Also, the first book to catalog Russian edged weapons maker marks and quality control stamps

Laminated hard cover, 384 pp and 290 pp per volume.

by Kurt Glemser C. 1991. Valuable reference on standard issue military daggers of many Eastern European and some Asian countries, including those issued by Communist regimes. Also shows many daggers of Nazi satellite countries.

Contains excellent information on manufacturer marks and some commonly encountered fantasy pieces and reproductions. English text, soft covered, 160 pp, good quality b/w photos.

Contains detailed information on PRESENTATION daggers of the former Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact nations: Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, DDR, Slovakia, plus shows some Imperial Russian daggers.
