Re: Guards Badges

Pobeda factory, as seen on the screwplate. It might be a little earlier than the 80s, but no too much. Not worth a whole lot because of it's condition but still great for display.

Re: Guards Badges

If I'm not incorrect this type can still be bought by the dozen, unissued and in the original "boxes". $3 a dozen last time I looked.

Re: Guards Badges

Oh yes. Unissued stock is usually rather cheap. Buy it by weight and buy it in bulk so the postal cost doesn't kill you.

There always seems to be newly "released from the warehouse" items on offer. This month's high end item may be worthless next month but this month's bargain is also easily snapped up so it is much a game a chance.

With many Soviet items you also have to concern yourself with the "released from the baltic mint" problem too.

Re: Guards Badges

Does fringe put this post war? It is a beauty either way. I REALLY like the character of the nut!

Re: Guards Badges

I am pretty sure its WWII. Its not the fringe which makes the difference, there are no "waves" under the enamel of the red banner.

That also caught my eye, I'm no expert, but I really like the look of that one, very appealing to look at and again, the nut is great!

Guys,

That is a transition-type piece that was manufactured in early post WW2.
