I put my medals in display frames like in this one. I used a cheap (5$) Soviet flag as a background.
I hope, you like it. Gerd

Took me a few years... but hey, I finally got some! We'll ive had them for a bit just never gotten aorund to taking a pic hehe. I jsut use some case my mom got at a craft store, and jsut put some felt-like lining in the pack to pin the medals onto. For the screbacks I just poked holes in the cardboard bakcing. Notihng too fancy.

Back when I had a medal collection I displayed them in cases like this. Once in the cases I had them setup on shelves tilted from the back upwards at a slight angle.

You got yourself some nice orders there. My case is full now no room for all the docs.
But here is how it looks as of last month. Quote:

Hello,
Soviet: I should have been clearer. I tilted the entire case up not the individual medals. So the document still stays behind the medal but you can still see a bit easier then if they were lying flat on a shelf. Ron: Thanks for the kind words on the old collection. I see you are not to be outdone! Great looking display and nice collection. Dolf: Yes it used to be my collection. I sold it off recently. I think I had about another or four or five mounts of medals and badges that I did not upload fotos of. One of the main reasons (but not only reason) I decided to sell was the incredible rise in the market price of nearly every Soviet award recently. That rapid increase was making it harder and harder to find additional pieces to add to the collection - that I wanted to afford. I still collect Soviet but have gone away from medals to senior officer uniforms and visors from WWII. I really really enjoy the cloth side these days. I look at my new visors the same way I used to look at my screwback Lenin (which had McDaniel documentation with it) and Kutozov 3rd - with some lust if you will!!! I had shown the visors on another thread the link works you can see what what I essentially 'swapped' the medals for. I dol have some great tunics and someday I will get around to taking some photos of them and post them on the Uniforms page. Thanks Clete http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/s...hlight=ekclete

Nice collection Ron. I actually just bought a showcase at ....... Walmart of all places. It isn't very big but will do nicely for my high end awards.

Thanks, I never thought of walmart, I got my display case at a second hand shop. It is made of oak had nice heavy glass. Just re-stained it and changed the hardware to brass fittings.
