Banzragch Es
Posted at the request of a forum comrade. This is, so far as I know, her full group [actually, sadly, missing a Polar Star, it seems :( ]. Documented and researched as far as is presently possible. She was a camel herder.

Re: Banzragch Es
A bit more on her:
Born 1904, born in Dundgobi province, Khuld soum, died 2000. Hero by decree No. 279, on 27 October 1961. 'As camel herder in the "Talyn tsetseg" collective farm of Dundgobi province, Khuld soum. [translation of Talyn tsetseg - steppe flower] She initiated the collectivization together with the local people in 1957. 'Initially she got 140 camels and during the next four years she got 216 young camel calves from 215 she-camels. In average, she got from one camel 5.1 - 5.8 kg wool, from one she-camel 100 - 120 litres milk. She was a delegate of the second conference of the collective farmers. She was awarded two times with Sukhbaatar order and one time with “Polar star” order.' Last edited by medals73; 09-19-2011 at 04:38 PM. |

Re: Banzragch Es
Absolutely fantastic! Where else in the world could you become a "Hero" for herding camels? Do you know what number her "Polar Star" is in case it pops up for sale some time?

I did persuade them to restore the photo which they'd popped out of her order book (and felt somewhat tawdry for doing this). Also her Outstanding Herder badge (Battiushig #J21). Sadly, they couldn't find her aimag badge, whatever it was. |

Re: Banzragch Es
WARNING!
Somebody is trying to sell this group and the person offering it for sale is NOT the owner of the group. The person is also active on eBay and I've already had to register one "unreceived item" claim and expect to have to register another one soon as well. Can provide more details over PM. |

Re: Banzragch Es
Are listing images lifted directly from the forum or is something else afoot?
If they are lifted directly from the forum they must be a forum member to view them and in using them fraudulently will be banned. It certainly wouldn't be the first time someone has tried this.

Re: Banzragch Es
No, pics are not from the forum.
The seller: - has pics not posted here - does not have all the pics (eg later items) that are posted here ...so a bit of a mystery. I got into contact with the seller when I won one of his ebay auctions. He made some errors when sending messages via email as a result of which I believe I may have seen his real name. All in all during conversations over email he's used 3 different names. His supposed Mongolian name is entirely unknown in the UB collecting community. Other signals that something is wrong with this seller as well. I can give the eBay name of the seller over PM - beware, he is selling Mongolian items on eBay. |

Re: Banzragch Es
The group (and some other rare items) are on eBay now. Surprising, as the seller had told me it was shipped and on my way already.
I guess my message that he'd receive payment upon arrival rather than during shipment did not go down well and he's seeking to extort cash elsewhere now. |
