What this period may be cap?

Hello everyone:
I could help date this hat?. I think it may be the period 1959-69, but the crown being made of cotton I have doubts. I also doubt arises from the presence of the red star of 31 mm. The diamond interior is unreadable (there are only letters yccp)
What do you think?

Re: What this period may be cap?

I'm not an expert, but I would guess 1950s to early 1960s?

Wait for a more experienced member to respond. :)

As far as I am concerned, it appears be a nice and authentic cap with the correct type star and chinstrap that dates from the aforementioned period. :thumbsup

Oh yippee! :D I got it right!

I got a question though!

Did they use those sweat diamonds during WW2 produced caps and visors or were they introduced post-war?

Re: What this period may be cap?

Thanks for your comments.
Had difficulties to date this cap. As you can see the model is exactly like the special forces dating from 1955 that he illustrated. But there are two differences that make me doubt: the cap is made of special troops in wool, it would be older.
However the star (the special forces) is more stylish and it would be more modern.

That is a part to be manufactured in cotton cap infantry could be more recent but the oldest red star ... pufff :confused::confused:

Not necessarily - Gabardine, which is a woolen weave fabric, also referred to as "diagonal wool", was used, but less than napped wool in the fabrication of many caps throughout the years.

IMO that is... ;)

The star I believe you are referring to seems to me to be an earlier variation.

Again, IMO that is...

I have seen and owned caps dating from 1930X with sweat diamonds. However, the majority were postwar examples...
